MESH COMMUNICATIONS

Stronger with
the grid.
Unbroken without it.

Stolo weaves radio, Wi-Fi, and cellular — and any other medium — into one encrypted self-healing mesh. When infrastructure is up, it uses the best link for speed. When it isn't, your team keeps talking anyway.

§ 02 ADAPTIVE PATH SELECTION

One message. Every medium. One delivery.

A single message can cross Radio, Wi-Fi, cellular — and any other link you add. The mesh picks the best medium for every hop and stitches them together without you noticing.

§ 03 GETTING STARTED

Three Steps. Easy Setup.

A kit ships with everything you need. Pre-configured for your team.

01

Ship.

A kit lands at your site — handhelds, Peak relays, every device pre-paired to your network identity.

  • Pre-configured out of the box
  • Admin adds team members from a web console
  • Managed install per phone or laptop
02

Deploy.

Relays and handhelds deployed, phones install the app. Peers find each other automatically — no pairing codes, no IT ticket.

  • < 60 seconds boot to mesh
  • End-to-end encrypted
  • Works indoors, underground, off-grid
03

Talk.

Your team uses Stolo like any messaging app — chats, groups, files, location — except it keeps working past the edge of coverage.

  • Familiar interface, day one
  • iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Store-and-forward when peers drop
§ 04 HOW STOLO COMPARES

How Stolo compares. Honestly.

Cellular and satellite are great where they work — we're not trying to replace your phone. Here's where Stolo wins, and where another stack is the right call.

§ 05 PLATFORM

Field properties, not features.

The properties that make Stolo work when nothing else does.

01 · RADIO

Radio, Wi-Fi, cellular, cable — and more, used at once.

Not fallbacks. The mesh picks the best medium per packet and switches mid-session.

Anymedium

LoRa · Wi-Fi · Ethernet · cellular · packet radio · serial · satellite · I2P · custom

02 · SELF-HEALING

Routes re-form without a controller.

No central server, no dispatch. When any link drops, the graph re-negotiates itself in under a second.

03 · RANGE
10km+

Radio transport range per relay. Chain for indefinite coverage.

04 · ENCRYPTION

AES-256 end-to-end.

Keys live on the devices. Not on our server — not on anyone's.

05 · BATTERY
72hrs

Internal + solar. Masts run unattended for days.

06 · RUGGED

Built for the weather.

Sealed against dust, rain, and drops. Designed for the conditions that kill phones.

07 · STORE & FORWARD

Survives multi-day outages.

Messages queue on-device, signed and sealed. They deliver the instant the recipient comes back within reach — hours or days later, unchanged.

§ 06 QUESTIONS WE GET

The honest ones.

If you're evaluating Stolo against radios, satellite, or a consumer chat app, these are the questions we hear — in order.

Does Stolo need any internet at all?+

No. Two Stolo units form a mesh on their own. If internet is available, Stolo will use it as one more transport medium — but the network works identically without it.

How does this compare to a radio?+

Radios are point-to-point and have no file sharing, no groups, no history, no encryption. Stolo gives you the usability of modern messaging with the infrastructure-independence of a radio network — and it runs alongside your existing radios, not against them.

Can Stolo read my traffic?+

No. Every message is end-to-end encrypted with AES-256. Keys live on devices, not on our servers. We literally don't have the ability to read your traffic — by design, there is no server in the path.

What happens when someone is out of range?+

Messages queue on peers in the mesh, signed and sealed. The moment that person returns to range — minutes, hours, or days later — the message delivers. The sender sees a "pending" state until it lands.

Does this work indoors, in canyons, underground?+

Stolo is a mesh — not line-of-sight. If there's a hop available, the packet finds it. Typical deployments place one Peak relay per 3–5 handhelds for indoor/canyon coverage.
